As the trees are green, sun is out, daytime is longer, people are outdoor longer. Therefore, where to go? In case you get bored of the plateau, explore south to the Old Montreal. Marché des Éclusiers , the new project of the co-owners of Fabergé, is a new hybrid market that focused heavily on locally sourced and sustainable produce. It has recruited various local small business owners, vendors, and farmers. It’s the place where you can chill and enjoy a drink, grab some food with friends and family after strolling around the Old Port.

Huge outdoor space with light wooden tables. As everything is locally sourced, the furnitures are designed by a custom wood furniture company located in St-Henri.
If the ground floor is too crowded or you just want a better view, head up stairs!
When it rains or don’t feel like staying out, there’s comfy sofas that makes you like home.

From the Montreal Farmer’s Market to the sustainable seafood stall to the mixed stall, which offers an abundance of dried goods, milk honey, spices etc. Marché des Éclusiers pretty much got you covered for eating, grocery shopping, and relaxing in one space. There’s also a flower and plant stall, which all the plants are eco-friendly and flowers are wild locally harvested.
For the coffee lovers, there’s also a cafe from Volcanic Organic, which is a new specialty micro-roasting company and brewed coffee retailer. The beans are directly from the owner’s farm in Guatemala. They also have various vegan baked goods and various breakfast options.
Marché des Éclusiers is located right on the water, hence the view. It definitely makes the neighborhood more accessible to meet the home shopping needs, such as groceries, cleaning products, take-out…etc. Not only just the food element, they also collaborate with local musicians whom perform live music, creating an upbeat environment. It’s absolutely a welcoming space for everyone. Instead of making various stops throughout the city, Marché des Éclusiers makes all those errands possible in one stop.
