[MTL] MTL à Table 2016 A Casual Resto with Exquisite Dishes – La Récolte Espace Local

La Récolte Espace Local is situated in the Little Italy/Villeray neighborhood, close to station Jean Talon. I've walked passed by it quite a few times when it's closed, so never had an idea how the restaurant is like. Thankfully, my friends suggested this for MTL à Table. I'm already half way through the week of the event, and it's my third restaurant (two more to go!). This is by far the most satisfying dinner.

[MTL] MTL à Table 2016 A Portuguese Affair – Helena

Helena, is a Portuguese restaurant located in the Old Montreal, right on McGill street. I've already heard a lot about the restaurant before the visit (I even have Chef/owner Helena Loureiro's cookbook!), so I had a bit of expectations for it. As an avid seafood lover, my friends have been telling me how good their food are, and the fishes are very fresh. I'm glad that it's one of the participated restaurants for MTL à Table, which finally allowed me to have the chance to try it out, and it didn't disappoint.

[MTL] Parisian-style bistro – Laloux

Laloux has been in Montreal's food scene for around 30 years. It has been on my wish list for a while, but never had the chance. Situated on Ave du Pins, and hidden between Blvd. St. Laurent and rue St. Denis, it is quite accessible to me, but I could've easily missed if I haven't heard of it before. Glad that I had the chance to visit on the last day of MTL à Table with my parents. It is definitely one of the city’s favourite and well-rated restaurants.

[MLT] MTL à Table 2015 – “Uh oh” at Lili.Co

My first visit to Lili Co. was two years ago, while it was still at Rue de Mentana (near Station Mont-Royal). Lili Co. has recently expanded and moved to Blvd. St-Laurent (corner of Rue Villeneuve), where it's more spacious and better location (Congrats!). I was excited to see its participation in this year's MTL à Table, as my friends and I had a great impression of their brunch. _MG_0953 Therefore, I gathered my fellow Montreal foodie friends, and reserved a table for 7 people. Walking in the restaurant with moderately high expectations, but the dinner ended on a not-so-pleasant note.

[MTL] MTL à Table 2015 – Nature Meets Gastronomy at Restaurant Manitoba

Personally, MTL à Table (aka Montreal's restaurant week) is the most anticipated week/event of the year! This year, I started off the week at Restaurant Manitoba. I've been there for brunch before the chef Chris Parasiuk departs. However, my friend and I are also looking forward to what the new chef Michael Dalla Libera has to offer. Even though it's quite far off in the Mile-Ex, just around the Little Italy, Restaurant Manitoba was packed at night. Without further due, let's unfold the night.

[MTL] Quirky Anabel Bar et Vin in the Mile End

Anabel Bar et Vin is a quirky and country-styled restaurant that just opened for business in February 2014. It's located on rue Bernard and avenue du Parc.  The entire restaurant is painted in my favorite color, turquoise. The classic black and white floors, marble tables with wooden chairs created a cozy ambiance. The candle at each table lightens up the night. I visited with a friend for their MTL à Table 5-course menu, which consists most of their signature items.  And I could say that I was impressed!

[MTL] MTL à Table 2014 – A taste of Portuguese flavor at Taverne F par Ferreira

Taverne F par Ferreira is the second restaurant that I went for this year's MTL à Table! The first one was such a fail, so I'm not going to write about it, but today's dining experience made up for the disappointment! Taverne F is part of the Ferreira group, locating right next to Station Place-des-arts (Jeane Mance exit). It offers petiscos, which are small dishes for sharing (similar to Spanish tapas), with typically Portuguese flavors and aromas.
