Yue Pin is located in the third floor of a newly opened hotel, Hotel Dùa, in Kaohsiung. The restaurant is led by a chef from Hong Kong who has 30 years of experience in cooking Chinese cuisine. The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxing and exquisite. It is a great choice for family gathering, hospitalizing business partners, and hanging out with friends.
Yue Pin is definitely on my top 5 favorite restaurant in Kaohsiung. They serve authentic dim sum during lunch time, which is perfect for me because I love dim sum. It has recently been the first place I visit after I arrived in Kaohsiung.
This is a must whenever I visit. It’s quite a special dish compare to the shrimp dumplings in other restaurant. Normally, the dumplings aren’t served with the red vinegar, however, I like the addition of red vinegar because it gives the taste buds a fresh taste. The cloudy skin is chewy too.
I believe that in order to know whether the dim sums are authentic or not, it can be known through their BBQ pork buns. I love their buns. The dough isn’ soggy, it’s quite soft, but not fluffy. The fillings aren’t too sweet, and don’t have an artificial taste, which most of the BBQ pork buns do.
This is another classic dim sum dish. The pork is really fresh that it doesn’t have a smelly taste that some pork do. The meat isn’t mushy too.
This dish is a common dish in Hong Kong’s local restaurant, and it has never been my favorite. However, this one changed my mind! I love how the noodles are not too soft, and it’s not too salty too. Too much soy sauce is added to most of the restaurants, but not this one.
This one is alright, pretty ordinary, but I would say that it’s still above the standard.
The best is saved for the last! This is my favorite dessert. It’s made of sweet yam, and it’s just like mochi. It’s chewy but not sticky. I strongly recommend this one! (You won’t be able to get it anywhere else!)
Though the dishes look fancy for dim sum, but the price is actually not that expensive! I would love to visit every week if I can. However, these dishes are all high calories food, and no fibre too. A lot of soy sauce is involved, which is not good for our health. When eating out, people can easily exceed their intake of sodium, which will lead to various diseases.
Stay healthy!
