Earl Grey Chocolate Nuts Braid

Ingredients
  • 1 Chocolate Tablet
  • 8 Phyllo sheets
  • 1 Egg
  • A handful of nuts
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 415°F/213°C
  2. Defrost the phyllo pastry according to the instruction on the package
  3. Lay out the phyllo sheets on the working table
  4. Place the chocolate tablet in the center
  5. Carefully cut the lines diagonally along the left and right side of the chocolate bar (~an inch apart)
  6. Remove the corner pieces of both sides
  7. Sprinkle some crush nuts before start folding (if you desire)
  8. Start from the top, fold down the flap
  9. Alternate right and left all the way to the end
  10. Fold the bottom flap up to seal
  11. Place the braided pastry on a piece of parchment paper on baking tray
  12. Brush with egg wash
  13. Sprinkle crushed nuts on top of the pastry
  14. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown
