[TO] Alo’s Sister – Aloette

While I'm not really to splurge on Alo yet, I figured that Aloette would probably give me a sense of Chef Patrick Kriss's cuisine. Also, being the only Canadian restaurant on the list of World's 50 Best Restaurants, it is impossible to get a table at Alo without booking at least one month in advance. On the other hand, Aloette is a more down-to-earth and accessible!

[TW] New Aboriginal Cuisine – AKAME

AKAME, means "grill" in Rukai tribe language, was definitely one of the most talked restaurants in Taiwan last year. Operating by two brothers, chef Alex and Sky, in the village "Kucapu ngane", the oldest village of Rukai tribe. As one of the global food trends is to eat local and seasonal, AKAME has adapted it well by using seasonal food and characteristic spices and wild herbs of Taiwan aborigines.

[MTL] MTL à Table 2016 A Casual Resto with Exquisite Dishes – La Récolte Espace Local

La Récolte Espace Local is situated in the Little Italy/Villeray neighborhood, close to station Jean Talon. I've walked passed by it quite a few times when it's closed, so never had an idea how the restaurant is like. Thankfully, my friends suggested this for MTL à Table. I'm already half way through the week of the event, and it's my third restaurant (two more to go!). This is by far the most satisfying dinner.

[VAN] “I Want It All” – The Mackenzie Room

The dinner at The Mackenzie Room was probably the most epic meal I've ever had so far. I had the chance to stay at Vancouver for 2 days after the trip to San Francisco, hence I got the opportunity to explore the food scene! Instead of going for Japanese food, my friend had given me few choices. The Mackenzie Room had caught my attention when I tried to look up the menu, because there is none on the site! They offer a menu (written on the chalkboard) that is in season, which totally reminds me one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal, Provisions 1628.
