[MTL] The Classic – L’Express

L'Express, a French classic locating on rue St-Denis, has been in Montreal's food scene since 1980, and still standing strong. I've heard and read a lot of reviews about it since Freshmen year, and finally had the chance to visit with my parents! On a rainy night, I made the reservation very last minute, and was glad that they still have tables available at our preferred time!  We were greeted warmly by the staffs, who are all dressed in black and white, as soon as we walked in. The food and service were impeccable. It's one of the restaurants that my mom asked, "why didn't you bring us here when your brother was here last time?"

[MTL] Parisian-style bistro – Laloux

Laloux has been in Montreal's food scene for around 30 years. It has been on my wish list for a while, but never had the chance. Situated on Ave du Pins, and hidden between Blvd. St. Laurent and rue St. Denis, it is quite accessible to me, but I could've easily missed if I haven't heard of it before. Glad that I had the chance to visit on the last day of MTL à Table with my parents. It is definitely one of the city’s favourite and well-rated restaurants.

[MLT] MTL à Table 2015 – “Uh oh” at Lili.Co

My first visit to Lili Co. was two years ago, while it was still at Rue de Mentana (near Station Mont-Royal). Lili Co. has recently expanded and moved to Blvd. St-Laurent (corner of Rue Villeneuve), where it's more spacious and better location (Congrats!). I was excited to see its participation in this year's MTL à Table, as my friends and I had a great impression of their brunch. _MG_0953 Therefore, I gathered my fellow Montreal foodie friends, and reserved a table for 7 people. Walking in the restaurant with moderately high expectations, but the dinner ended on a not-so-pleasant note.

[MTL] Dainty tea room in the Plateau Mont-Royal – Le Parloir

I am attracted deeply by those British 3-tier afternoon tea set. It has always been a must whenever I visit Hong Kong. For the past few years in Montreal, I've been looking for a decent spot, but surprisingly, it wasn't as easy as I thought! Even the classy Ritz-Carlton's high tea disappointed my friend and me greatly. IMG_6949 Le Parloir is a cute, charming, and cozy tea room located near Metro Mont-Royal. The European inspired decors levels up the experience, as you would feel like you are in Europe while sipping your tea with Victorian china. The first thing I noticed as I entered was the flowers on each table!

[MTL] Unique, Cozy, Country – La Petite Adresse

I have to admit that this is a long overdue post that I just didn't have time and chance to write it. I visited in March 2014. I have to say that it is really easy to just walk by La Petite Adresse without noticing it! I accidentally discovered this spot when I was going to Milos (my favorite Greek restaurant in Montreal!). It is just right next to it, literally. My friend and I decided to go try it as soon as we saw their menu at the door!

[MTL] 70s Tearoom in Modern Day – Salon de Thé Cardinal

Through the small red door next to the restaurant Sparrow on St-Laurent and Rue Maguire, and walk up the stairs to the second floor, you’ll be amazed by what you see. Salon de Thé Cardinal is a two-level tearoom opened at the beginning of December 2013 by the owners of The Sparrow. Since the Mile End is overwhelmed with cafés, the addition of the tearoom definitely created a lot of discussion.

[MTL] A Small Taste of Turkish Culture – Café Replika

[caption id="attachment_414" align="aligncenter" width="705"] Café Replika[/caption] Ashley has mentioned this cafe to me at the beginning of the school year, but I didn't have a chance to visit until November! [caption id="attachment_415" align="aligncenter" width="705"]Menu Board Menu Board[/caption] Café Replika is a Turkish café located on rue Rachel East, which has just opened for business in August. It is owned by a young Istanbulite couple, who were really nice and patient to explain the items on their menu.
